Google targeted in e-mail scamming

Google was targeted with phishing scams in which thousands of users found were tricked into giving away their details. The details in question were that of login codes, passwords and possibly even bank details.

Google acknowledged that in total there were three lists discovered all displaying Gmail, Yahoo and Hotmail accounts and there subsequent logins.

It is important to point out that the phishing scams that have been used here are not a threat on the email website security however instead are fake websites that trick consumers into entering their details. Website security itself was not breached however the accounts that the details related two were reset for security reasons.

The enormity of this scam highlights the overall threat that phishing scams have on user today and personal protection of details is something that all internet users should take very seriously.
